St. Joseph's School traces its foundation back to a humble beginning in the year 2009. An increasing quest for quality education in this area inspired the Founder/Chairman Rev. Fr. Joseph Bernard Rosario to establish the school in 2010 at Muttom. Efforts to improve early childhood development is an investment, not a cost. Elaborate discussions and strategic planning were carried out by the board members of the Academic Committee, as we believe that imparting knowledge is a noble mission. In the academic year 2010–11, kindergarten/pre-primary sections were introduced and inaugurated with 302 students enrolled. With Rev. Fr. Soosai Antony as the Correspondent, Sr. Glory as the Principal, and eight teaching staff, we stepped into the world of inculcating the light of knowledge to our first batch of students.
On 13 June 2012, new infrastructure accommodating all amenities and facilities was completed. The primary sections were shifted to the permanent location in Attinkarai, Manavalakurichi. Our school marched ahead with the strength of 520 students and 21 teaching staff. Rev. Fr. Clatton took charge as the Correspondent and Sr. Julie as the Principal the same year. The then Bishop of Kottar, Bp. Peter Remigius, inaugurated the new campus. The pre-primary sections were shifted to the permanent location in the year 2013. Our SJS team embarked on a new journey on 1ˢᵗ March 2023. The DMI Society has taken our school toward new horizons. Rev. Fr. J.E. Arul Raj (Chairman), Rev. Sr. Xavier Selvi (Correspondent), and Rev. Fr. Rethees (Campus Superior) have since been guiding the institution with vision and dedication.
